I pulled this 1 litre bottle off bottom in Paddys pond yesterday. It was standing upright in the mud and full of motor oil. It has been there for awhile and I’m very thankful that the plastic didn’t break down and the oil leak out. One litre of oil can contaminate one million litres of water which is terrible for the fish, frogs, insects, birds, etc. Toxic poisoning and it reduces the oxygen levels as it creates a thin film over the surface which blocks sunlight and stops oxygen from moving between air and water. This bottle of oil will go to a used oil drop off location to be recycled. Water is life! Stay safe:)

Pond cleanup #25 for 2026. Paddys pond for the 6th time this season. Another 26 vehicle tires removed from bottom again today in just under 3 hours. That makes 129 tires from this pond this year. Big thanks to Thomas Clift for reaching out and offering to cover my expenses on this cleanup. It’s much healthier here after today because you care. Thanks for your kindness. Stay safe

Here are my results from today’s cleanup of Paddys Pond for the 5th time this year . Snorkelling and free-diving and cleaning up the bottom. 33 more vehicle tires removed today . That makes 103 tires from the bottom of this pond so far this year. TBH; Most of these tires still have a piece of rope through them or screws sticking out of them. Bumpers on wharfs/ docks that broke loose and drifted away and settled to bottom. Please note, I don’t point fingers or try to shame anyone. The tires are there and I will do my best to get them out and make it better for the generations coming after me:) Big thanks to Sherry L. Scott for your support in covering my expenses on this cleanup. Your kindness is greatly appreciated and another section of Paddys Pond is healthier because you care. Stay safe

Pond Cleanup #23 for this summer. Paddys pond again today. That makes exactly 180 pond cleanups over 10 years. Big thanks going out to Adele Walsh for reaching out and offering to cover my expenses and lunch on this cleanup. I removed 28 more tires and a skidoo track from the mud and silt in 3 hours plus some cans, bottles and broken glass. That’s the second time I have filled this aluminum boat that a very kind follower donated to me recently to use to cleanup ponds with lots of tires on bottom. This trip makes 70 tires total that I have removed from the bottom of this pond in 4 recent cleanups. Stay safe and enjoy the great outdoors.

Paddys Pond cleanup this morning. Snorkelling and freediving from 9am to 1pm. A big pile removed from the bottom in such a small area I covered. Over the last 10 years I have completed 173 pond cleanups in the summer months, most on the Northeast Avalon and this pond will definately be the most trashed. I managed to recover 11 vehicle tires this morning from the bottom and I seen at least another 30 on bottom in the area I covered . So sad to see this. Especially with all the people that enjoy fishing this pond for brown trout throughout the year. I’m gonna have to invest in a bigger boat and make a trip back one day and remove them all. Big thanks to Larry MacDonald for your support in covering my expenses on this cleanup. Very kind of you to reach out. Paddys pond is somewhat healthier after today because you care. Stay safe:)

A stop in at Paddy’s pond dam area off Fowler’s road for a couple hours of backpacking around. All this came from pondside and walking a few trails where the fire was last summer. Mostly all recyclable items removed from the environment. Stay safe and enjoy the great outdoors:)

5 of the most interesting bottles from Paddy’s pond cleanup after a good cleaning. Dish soap water and a bit of comet with a tooth brush does wonders:)

Paddys Pond was chosen for pond cleanup # 16 for this summer. Over 3 hours of snorkelling and free diving and again some interesting finds on the bottom of this waterbody. A lot cleaner near the highway now after this haul. And yes I did see and swim along side some fish as this is a popular fishing spot
